It’s Halloween time and that means we are all looking for some fun Halloween snacks and ways to spice up our lives a little. We have been searching for fun and quick things to make and we have a good list here for you.
Stay tuned for part 2 next week where we do 8 more fun and easy snacks.
This one has been around for a few years now but I have never done it. It was so easy and the kids were super excited about having the teeth and eating a donut. It’s super easy to just stick the vampire teeth in the hole and add some eyes.
Here is a fun snack for the kids lunch box or to hand out as a party snack at school. I LOVE sweets but after so much sugar I just need something a little salty. My kids LOVE cheese balls so this was a fun way to change things up a bit.
Just draw a face on the bags, add cheese balls, and tie them up.
My kids prefer fresh fruit but this is a fun alternative to eating something healthy. These are so easy to do and it’s something you might already have on hand.
Just get a marker and draw a Jack-O-Lantern face on the top of these fruit cups. We used mandarin oranges but you could use peaches as well.
Caramel Apples are so yummy and so good to eat in the fall. I get really sick eating them though because it’s just too much. Here is a fun way to make them easier to eat and it’s a lot less to eat.
Just cut slices and put a stick inside. Tap them dry a little with a paper towel.
Dip them in melted orange candy melts. Lay them flat on a silicone sheet.
Decorate with more melted chocolate however you would like. We did 3 types here but I’m sure with your creativity, you could thing of other ways.
Using the same orange candy melts, dip a mini pretzel in the chocolate using a fork. Shake off the extra and slide it off onto a silicone sheet. Add a green mini M&M and you just make a cute Halloween pumpkin.
Using the same orange candy melts, add some Cinnamon Chex and stir it around. Make sure all the Chex get covered in chocolate. This was about 6 ounces of chocolate and about 4 cups of Cinnamon Chex. Make sure you use Cinnamon Chex because it adds a lot of flavor.
Add 1 cup of powdered sugar to a gallon size ziplock bag. Add the Chex and shake it until all the Chex are covered in powdered sugar. Dump them in a bowl and add some candy corns and/or fall M&M’s. I am seriously addicted to this Halloween Puppy Chow. I think it’s the cinnamon and the crunch.
This gets me so excited for Halloween.
Seriously though, stay tuned for next week when we show you 8 different Fun Halloween Snacks.
Vampire Donuts
Plastic vampire teeth
Candy for eyes (we used red hots)
Stick the vampire teeth in the hole of the donut. Add the eyes.
Jack-O-Lantern Cheese Puffs
Clear bags
Cheese Puffs
Green Pipe cleaner or green ribbon
Draw a Jack-O-Lantern face on your bags. Fill them up with Cheese puffs. Tie them with the pipe cleaner or ribbon. If you using pipe cleaner, wrap it around your finger to curl it and make it look like a vine.
Jack-O-Lantern Fruit Cups
Mandarine Orange or Peach Fruit Cups
Sharpie Marker
Draw a Jack-O-Lantern face on the top of the cup.
Chocolate Covered Apple Slices
Orange colored Candy Melts
Dark chocolate Melts
Granny Smith Apples
Sucker sticks or popsicle sticks
Slice your apples into thick slices (about ¾”). Carefully stick the sucker or popsicle sticks up inside the apples. Try not to puncture it on the outside because it will leak more juices. Tap them dry with a paper towel.
Melt the chocolate melts. Dip the apples in the orange chocolate and place it on a silicone sheet.
With the dark chocolate, pour it into a ziplock bag and cut the tip. Decorate the apple slices however you would like to. Let them sit to dry. I really like using the melts because they dry really well.
Pretzel Pumpkins
Orange colored Candy Melts
Mini Pretzels
Mini M&Ms (pick out the green ones)
Melt your chocolate melts. Dip the pretzels in the chocolate with a fork or a special chocolate dipping tool. Make sure the pretzel is covered then tap off the extra. Slide it off onto a silicone sheet or parchment paper. Add the green M&M right away before the orange chocolate melts. Make sure it is dry before trying to move it or serve it.
Halloween Puppy Chow
6oz. Orange Chocolate Melts
4 cups Cinnamon Chex Cereal
1 cup powdered Sugar
¾ cup candy corns and/or fall colored M&M’s
Melt the chocolate. Add the cereal and mix together until the cereal is all covered in chocolate. Pour 1 cup of powdered sugar into a gallon size Ziplock back. Dump the cereal in the bag and toss it around until all the cereal is covered in powdered sugar. Dump half of it in a bowl and add half of your candy. Dump the rest in and pour the rest of the candy on top. You don’t want to mix the candy with the powdered sugar or you will lose the bright color of the candy.
