Ants on a Log

It’s summer now and all the kids are home…All…Day…Long.

I love my kids dearly but it’s hard having 6 kids. Having them all home all day is even harder.

Follow along to see what I’m doing this year to make it a little more manageable.

One thing, I’ve noticed, that makes summer so hard is keeping all of their tummies satisfied throughout the day. They either all want to eat at the same time because one sister is eating it, or they are eating at different times which means the kitchen just doesn’t stay clean and I’m constantly making food.

Please tell me I’m not alone in all of the madness.

We’re here to help with the problem.

I’m sharing a way that the kids can make their own snacks.

This one is great because it’s healthy, requires minimal ingredients, and it will fill them up for longer because of the protein in the peanut butter.

Have the kids watch the video and follow along.

First, with help from an adult, cut the celery into sticks like this.

Spread the peanut butter on each stick. It  is easier if you dry the celery first.

Add the “ants” or raisins on top and eat.

Peanut Butter
Raisins

1-Make sure you have all the ingredients.
2-Clean your work area and wash your hands.
3-Wash your celery really well.
4-*With the help of an adult, cut the celery into 3-4 inch long pieces.
5-Using a dull butter knife, scoop some Peanut Butter on the knife and scrape it in the celery.
6-Keep scraping and moving the knife down to spread the peanut butter all in the “U” shaped part of the celery.
7-Place some raisins in each celery piece on the peanut butter.
8-Clean up work area.
9-Eat, Share, Enjoy!
