I had heard great things about Instant Pots but I didn’t realize how much I would LOVE it. It comes on sale every once in a while on Amazon so if you watch carefully you can save quite a bit of money on them.

I don’t follow all the recipes that out there so I know I’m not taking full advantage of it. I just do my regular recipes in it and it saves me so much time. Rice is one of them. I don’t feel like it’s too much quicker than doing it on the stove but I really like the results. Doing Brown Rice or Wild Rice is really where it saves time but you need to do the Multi-grain mode on those. You just follow the same instructions but push the multi-grain button instead.

I’m sure there is a quicker and faster way to make rice but I like to do it this way.

I sautee the rice in a little oil and it helps the pan heat up so it’ll get it’s pressure quicker. I do the same method on the stove but that’ll have to be another video.

My favorite rice to use is Uncle Ben’s Parboiled Rice. I found that the Walmart version of it so just as good and a fraction of the cost.

It’s amazing how perfect it turns out every time.

We ate this rice with some sweet and sour meatballs but this is the basic rice recipe for any time of rice we make. Just add a few different spices to change it up a bit but that’s not even completely necessary.

Instant Pot Rice

1 ½ cups Rice (I like to use Parboiled Rice)
1 ½ tsp. Oil (I use Olive Oil)
2 ½ Water
Chicken Bouillon according to directions for 2 ½ cups (I like to use Shirley J’s brand)
½ tsp. Salt
⅛ tsp garlic powder
⅛ tsp onion powder

1-Make sure you have all your ingredients and clean your work area.
2-Pour the rice and oil in the Instant Pot and set the pot on to sautee.
3-Stir the rice until it gets opaque or more solid in color.
4-Once a majority of it becomes opaque, add the water chicken bouillon, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
5-Stir it around until it comes to a boil.
6-Put the lid on and make sure the top is set to seal, not vent.
7-Turn the instant pot off then push the rice button. It should automatically get set to 12 minutes. There is no start button so just let it sit for 3 seconds and it will start.
8- Once the timer and beeped, let it go to “keep warm” mode for about 8-10 minutes.
9-Switch it to vent to release the pressure in the pot.
10-Remove the lid and your rice is ready to eat.
11-Eat, Share, Enjoy!!!
