Ranch Dressing

Ranch dressing is the ultimate dressing and dip for everything. Today I dipped some Crusty Artisan bread in it and I didn’t want to stop. My kids love dipping pizza in ranch. My sister mixes ranch in with her spaghetti. Whatever floats your boat, this is the ranch you should be doing it with.

If you are like me, then you cannot stand the store bought stuff. It’s terrible. I’ve tried so many different brands of ranch and they are all terrible. They just have a little zing that doesn’t belong. I don’t like buying the pre-packaged mixes either because they all have MSG and sugar in them. I just have to keep these simple seasonings on hand and I can make it anytime.

I love that I can just tell Jules to make ranch and she knows what to get out. Sometimes she just needs help remembering the order and stuff but that doesn’t matter too much. I have noticed that if you mix in a different order then the ranch is a bit lumpy so it’s not the end of the world.

First, make sure you have all your ingredients. These are the seasonings you will need

Put your 4 oz of cream cheese in a bowl then add all your seasonings. You will need 1/2 tsp of each then 1 1/2 tsp of the parsley flakes.

At this point, you want to mix it really good. Try to smooth out that cream cheese as much as possible. I like to use the 1/3 less fat cream cheese because it’s pretty soft already.

It should look like this.

Add 1 cup of Mayonnaise. Make sure to use the full fat stuff. I’ve tried low fat and I’ve tried olive oil mayo and it was terrible. Don’t skimp on this and just go all out on the mayo. If you choose to not listen to me on this then don’t blame me if it doesn’t taste good or if it has a weird consistency.

Mix in the buttermilk and it’s look nice and smooth like this.

It may seem a bit runny at first. Put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes at it will thicken right up. If you like it on the runny side, add 1 full cup of buttermilk instead of the 3/4 cup.

It’s pretty much the perfect consistency for salad if you just leave it alone.

I like a runnier dip for veggies too so I just leave the recipe as it is.
