Rice Krispy Treats are one of those treats that get overlooked. They have those pre-made, store bought ones that taste like Crisco and chemicals. Those are NOT real, or even good. With how easy they are to make I wonder why people even buy those.
This is something so easy for the kids to make and it will give them so much pride.
I love using the microwave too because it’s much safer than the stove.
If you don’t have a microwave, you can follow the same steps in a large pot on the stove. Keep it on a medium heat and melt the marshmallows slowly and stir constantly. Make sure you have adult supervision when using the stove.
After it has all been mixed, you’ll want to spray a 9×13 pan. I like to use Pyrex pans.
When trying to get pressed into the pan it can get a little tricky because it’s sticky. Make sure your hands are clean then keep them wet and press it down with your wet hands. It won’t stick to your hands when they are wet.
Let them sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour before cutting into them if you want them to keep their shape.
These make a really good, thick Rice Krispy Treat.
Some say that the Generic Rice Krispies are just as good when making Rice Krispy Treats. I have to disagree. Spend the extra money and get the real Kellogg’s Rice Krispies.
